Lust, Money & Murder, A Series by Mike Wells (Book review by Melissa)

When Elaine Brogan was born the spastic little creature, who would grow into a model beautiful woman, gave Patrick Brogan's life new meaning. He brought her up with tales of princess castles and the hope of being something special one day. He worked hard to send her to Bromley, an all girls private school, and give her all she could ever need, like the ability to pursue the dream of becoming a model by attending classes. The only thing he couldn't give her was the ability to save him from arrest and his subsequent suicide. These are the things that give Elaine the drive to become the woman she is destined to be.

After her fathers death, at sixteen years of age, Elaine decides to make it her life's work to avenge his death and the man responsible. She keeps her nose to the books through high school so that she can get a scholarship to the Rhode Island School of Design and Architecture. Elaine's intention is to learn all she can about Intaglio printing and join the Secret Service. Her she plans to become part of the Anti-Counterfeiting Divison to find Ronald Eskew, the man she feels is responsible for her fathers death. She accels at all that she does in college, academically, but can not seem to find the "love connection" all of her classmates have found.

Elaine graduates top of her class and passes all the tests to start training for the Secret Services. Test after grueling test is Elaine's fate if she plans to stick it out and actually become an agent. Can she do it? Will she hang on til the end, become an agent and avenge her father's death? I guess you'll have to pick up the book and find out! The first book in the series, with a big cliffhanger at the end, will leave you wondering at Elaine's fate and ready to get the next book in the Lust, Money & Murder series.

   Thanks for reading!
