I recently received a copy of the book Secure Daughters, Confident Sons: How Parents Guide Their Children into Authentic Masculinity and Femininity by Glenn Stanton. I received this book for free from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group for this review.
The book is written by the director for family formation studies at Focus on the Family. The book gives equal attention to both girls and boys. It addresses the very foundation for humankind. As soon as a baby is born, the first question asked is "Is the baby a girl or boy?" Even people who feel that we should not force our child to have gendered identies understand and recognize the fundamental difference.
I love the way the book breaks down the characteristics and strengths of both genders. It gives specific examples of how Moms and Dads can relate to their sons and daughters and help steer them toward security and confindence in their adult life.

This book looks like something I'd like to read. I'm doing a re-read through of Dr. Dobson's Raising Boys, another great book on a similar subject.
